Goal: different goal on different days or same day

It would be nice if you could have one habit, let’s called “Exercise”, which you could set to have different times on different days.

Meaning every: Monday you want to exercise for 20 Minutes, Tuesday for 30 Minutes, Wednesday not at all etc. but it should all be one habit, so that you don’t have to create several for different time amounts.

If you introduce this feature please make it that you can merge habits and if times overlap on a certain day they just add up otherwise they will be combined under one new name.

Thank you!

Goal: Different goals for different day of week or time of day

I don’t have the same time for my habit everyday. I study 2 hours on weekends but only have 1 hour on weekdays.
I’d like to study for 2 hours in the morning and 1 in the evening. It’ll only show 3 total hours in both.
I’d like to track the same habit and have the right streak so I can’t separate them to different ones.
I think adding tags and tag filter for the stats (progress) could help too.

The examples presented in both posts have helped me recognize the differences between them.

This post focuses on the concept of assigning different goals to the same habit.

For instance, let’s consider my desire to cultivate a habit of reading to enhance my knowledge in my profession, which I’ll refer to as "Career Growth."

The reality is that the time I can dedicate to this habit varies significantly between weekdays and weekends due to my full-time job. On weekdays, I might only be able to spend about one hour on this habit, whereas on weekends, I could allocate up to four hours each day.

Our concern is that the app does not seem to accommodate such variations in usage for individuals who work full-time yet wish to invest more time in a particular habit during the weekends. I believe incorporating this flexibility would greatly benefit users like us.

Hi Sagar! Thanks for your sharing.Hi Sagar! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I reviewed Mark's post again, and my understanding is that he is suggesting a method of gradually achieving an overall daily goal throughout the day. For example, if the goal is "2 times per day," you could complete one in the morning and one in the evening. Once you complete the morning task, you can temporarily mark that habit as done. When evening comes, the task can be marked as undone again for the evening check-in. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

This idea is somewhat similar to the post that mentions, “I’d like to study for 2 hours in the morning and 1 hour in the evening. It’ll only show a total of 3 hours.” This is why I merged the two posts—so we can focus on highlighting this idea to the team.

Please share any additional thoughts you may have!

          Hi @Thư Mihn

I believe @Mark Bonchek could provide valuable insights to help us better understand the situation.

Additionally, I would greatly appreciate your advice regarding the scenario I mentioned. Do you think it would be best to create a new post, or do you have suggestions on how we should proceed?

          Thank you for your assistance!

Yes. I think if we made a weekly hours logged for the habit, would be great. Instead of being forced to my 1 hour/day habit when I only have time to do 20 minutes on day.

Weekly hours logged for certain habits would be solve this issue, probably less coding.

In total agreement with this feature

When force to spend so much time on a habit, you either want to lower the time to do the habit or just not do it at all and skip it. I think this is happening to me. Or I just log it as full time when I didn't…
