Habit Weighting & Priority Levels

Overview

Introduce a Priority or Weighting system for individual habits within an Area. Right now, every habit counts equally toward the daily score and overall progress, meaning missing a high-impact core habit impacts your stats the exact same way as missing a minor secondary habit.

How It Works

  • Weight Tiers: When setting up or editing a habit, users can assign a priority tier (e.g., Low, Medium, High) to explicitly designate its importance.

  • Visible Color Markers: A clear color-coded dot or marker appears on the right side of the habit list (e.g., a red dot for high priority), so users instantly know a habit's importance at a glance without opening its settings.

  • Impact on Progress Score: The area's daily success rate and trendline calculation dynamically factor in these weights. Missing a High priority habit drags down the score more than skipping a Low priority one.

Why This Is Useful

When tracking many habits, your daily score can feel discouragingly low or inaccurate if you complete all your critical goals but miss a couple of minor ones.

  • Accurate Reflection of Success: It mirrors real lifeβ€”some actions move the needle massively, while others are just maintenance.

  • Instant Recognition: Color markers on the right side of the list let you scan your daily routine and spot your core, non-negotiable anchor habits immediately.

  • Better Focus: Helps power users distinguish between vital goals and nice-to-have supplementary routines without unfairly inflating or deflating their overall analytics.
