Apple Health integration: Habitify write integration to Apple Health

It would be awesome for Habitify to be able to write values into Apple Health. For example, vitamin intake goals or water intake goals are input into Habitify, and reflected in apple health. Implementing the ability to write instead of just read would make the app much more useful in tracking big picture in apple health. I.e. all my sleep data, workout data, blood work, step data is already in apple health and data is being fed from other apps. I am almost never manually writing data into apple health.

Hi @David Jin ! Thanks for sharing your idea for the app. We will need to consider it against the case where there may be the data duplication since it is recorded from both apps.

    Still, highly appreciate your sharing!

Thank you Minh! In the case where there may be data duplication, it’s very easy to delete from Apple health and manage data source within the Apple app. It’s much more tedious having to add data into Apple health manually to have it reflected on the Habitify. :)

Deleting data is somehow sensitive especially on the third-party's services. I am thinking about suggesting to enable the function to write data to Health in specific cases instead.

You may want to download Streaks to see how they accomplish this. It’s possible. They’re the only other tracker I’ve seen to do this. They also allow habits to trigger shortcuts, which is huge. Biggest drawback of Streaks is their UI -

It’s very outdated, oversimplified and limiting.

    Very nice idea!
It is the only reason I don’t migrate to Habitify.

      Hello @Jair Sian !

For now integration between Apple Health and Habitify is one-way syncing. Therefore, only the logs from Apple Health can increase the progress and mark the habit as completed.

I know it is about the two-way syncing for more convenient way to track. The good news is our dev team is thinking about it. Once it is ready, I will update with you!

Apple Health Integration: Manually complete a task even if it's Apple health intergrated

When the Habit data is pulled from Apple health, once the it’s done via Apple health (let’s say I set 10,000 steps and apple calculated it), the Habit just set automatically as completed.

there is no psychological satisfaction from it as we really didn’t marked it as completed, so maybe add some click that needs to be done by the user to actually move it to completed habits

      Hi!

We supported 2-way syncing between Habitify and Apple Health. You can check the guide here:

      https://intercom.help/habitify-app/en/articles/13696695-how-to-sync-habitify-logs-to-apple-health-2-way-sync#h_b6d5bba49b.

While Habitify can read almost any data from Apple Health, there are strict limitations on what it can write back to Apple Health. The data cannot be written from Habitify to Apple Health includes:

      • Exercise Time (.exerciseTime, .appleExerciseTime)

      • Move Time (.appleMoveTime)

      • Stand Time (.appleStandTime)

      • Stand Hours (.appleStandHour)

      • Medication
