Website & Desktop App: "My Habit Order" broken in time of day and area views
Device: Macbook Pro M2 (Tahoe 26.3.1) and iPhone 16 Pro (iOS 26.4)
Details: I’m able to reorder my habits in Preferences > Habits on desktop and Sort By > Reorder Habits on iPhone and view habits in this order in the All Habits view. However when I toggle to the Time of Day view and click Sort By > My Habit Order, they are sorted seemingly randomly (not alphabetical, by creation order, or by reminder time, I’m unable to identify any potential patterns in their sorting). In the case of the Area views, it appears they may be sorted by creation order when attempting to use Sort By > My Habit Order
Steps:
Re-order habits via Preferences > Habits on desktop or Sort By > Reorder Habits on iPhone
Open Journal and navigate to Time of Day view
Click Sort By > My Habit Order
Troubleshooting attempted (applies to both mobile and desktop unless otherwise stated):
- Closing and reopening the app
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the app
- Reordering habits from the same area
- Reordering habits from different areas
- Reordering with only one instance of the application logged in
Temporary solution: Because alphabetical sort still works, I’ve renamed my habits with leading numbers (eg “01 Drink Water”) and sorted A-Z to produce the sort order that I want, however this is far from ideal.

Hi!
Thank you for your response with the information. I tried the Desktop app on macOS and encountered the issue as you described. I forwarded the problem to to dev team for further check. Once there is a fix, I will let you know here.
On behalf of the team I am so sorry for this unexpected issue and all the convenience it might cause! In the meantime, please try to use the mobile app to adjust the habit order instead.

Thank you for sharing with us your concern with the habit sorting in Time of Day and custom areas.
I just want to let you know that the habit order in each Time of Day and in each custom area is configured seperately.
To modify the habit order in a Time of Day, please go to Settings > Time of Day > tap on the time of day
To modify the habit order in a custom area, please go to Settings > All Areas/Manage Areas > tap on an Area.
If there is further issue that we should check, please let me know!

I have the same bug. I can select and sort by A-Z, Z-A and reminder time but not by habit order.
When I select habit order as the sort order it reverts to the creation order instead of by using my habit order I have created in preferences.
The bug is consistent on windows using chrome and on my android device.
For me the bug is consistent over each time of day, including times of day I have made myself however the bug is not present when I veiw all habits, when I view all habits, I am able to sort by habit order.
I have tryed to clear cashe and data and log out and back in with no success

Same problem for me. Changes to my habit order do not stick. I don’t see a Settings choice. I do see a App Settings choice, but I don’t see “All Areas/Manage Areas” there. .. .Ah!, it’s under the “Habits” area. There, my habit order is retained for the Time of Day section, but my habit order is still not being retained in the Areas section.

Web version limitations and "Anytime" setup
In the Web version, I cannot manually reorder or sort the habit folders—I am forced to open the mobile app to sort them, just to let them sync back to the Web. Also, there is no direct button to set a habit for "Anytime" (the whole day). To achieve this, I have to manually delete the Morning, Afternoon, and Evening time blocks for that habit, which feels counterintuitive.
