Flexible end date/times for habits

For example, assume i want to create a habit of dusting surfaces sometime during the weekend (sometime between Friday evening & Sunday afternoon).

In that case I'd like the end time/date to be flexible (the task shouldn't have to disappear at the end of Friday, and i shouldn't have to ask it to repeat the same task fri, sat, sun because once I mark it as done, I'd like it to disappear).

    Hi!

At Habitify, we prioritize simplicity and consistency. Our goal is to make habit-building as "low friction" as possible, especially for beginners. We use regular intervals (Daily or Weekly) so that you don't have to experience "decision fatigue." By having a clear list of what needs to be done, you can focus all your energy on the action itself rather than the planning.

To achieve the flexibility you’re looking for (doing it once between Friday and Sunday without it repeating), we recommend the following setup:

    1. Create a New Habit: Name it "Dusting Surfaces."

    2. Repeat: Set this to Friday, Friday, Sunday

    3. Goal: Set the goal to 1 time per week.

    Why this works for you:

    • It stays hidden during the week: Because you only selected Fri-Sat-Sun, the habit won't clutter your list from Monday to Thursday.

    • It disappears once done: Since your goal is "1 time per week," as soon as you mark it as completed (for example, on Friday night), Habitify recognizes that your weekly requirement is met. It will be moved to the "Completed" section and stays there through Saturday and Sunday.

This setup gives you that "bridge" of time you need while ensuring the app stays clean and organized once the work is finished.

I hope this helps you get started with your weekend routine! Let me know if you have any other questions about organizing your schedule.
